10-year-old boys beat baffled burglar

POLICE have released an image of a man they are seeking following an attempted burglary foiled by twin 10-year-old boys.
The two boys startled a male intruder at their North Geelong house on Tuesday night, according to police.
Geelong Police Inspector Chris Gawne said detectives were told the two boys were home alone playing video games when they heard a noise in the hallway of their Stubbs Avenue home around 8.40pm.
“One of the plucky pre-adolescents decided to investigate and was confronted by a man the corridor,” Insp Gawne said.
“The man grabbed the boy and forced him back into the bedroom before fleeing the premises.
“The boy gave chase and saw the man get into the passenger side of a ’90s model dark station wagon which was last seen driving north in Stubbs Ave.”
Insp Gawe said although neither boy was injured police were disturbed by the “brazen” attempted burglary.
“There is no indication the alleged offender is known to anyone at the house or in the area so at this stage we treating it as a random burglary.”
The alleged offender is described as in his 30s, Caucasian, approximately 183 cm tall with short brown hair.
