Rescue crews took about 20 minutes to extricate a trapped male driver after a head-on collision in Freshwater Creek on Monday afternoon.
South Barwon SES media liaison officer Scott Clark said SES crews were called to the accident at the corner of Blackgate and Loutitt Bay roads about 5pm.
“Once SES crews were on scene, they were met with a head-on collision, with one casualty trapped in their vehicle, a Toyota Corolla,” he said.
“SES and CFA rescue crews used hydraulic rescue gear including the Jaws of Life to remove the side of the vehicle before assisting ambulance crews to extricate the casualty out the side.”
He said 12 volunteers from South Barwon SES unit attended.
Oh what a rescue
