Flying stool foils armed robber

An attempted armed robbery at a milk bar in Norlane on Monday morning was foiled by an attendant who threw a metal stool at the robber.
Police said a man entered the Robin Avenue store just after 8am and walked towards the counter where he threatened the male attendant with a knife and demanded cash.
As the man approached the counter, the victim threw a metal stool at him and the man left the store. He was last seen riding a bicycle along Curlew Crescent.
Police said the attendant was not injured and nothing was stolen.
