A second man has been charged over an alleged hit-run collision that killed a 77-year-old cyclist at Anakie last Mother’s Day.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives charged Jeremy Robertson, 21, of Lovely Banks on Wednesday in relation to the death of Corio’s Gordon Ibbs on 10 May.
Robertson appeared in Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday afternoon on a charge of being an accessory after the fact in relation to Mr Ibbs’s death.
He was bailed to reappear in court at a later date.
Mr Ibbs was on a Sunday afternoon bike ride when a sedan allegedly hit him from behind on Geelong-Ballan Road.
Police have alleged the maroon VT Commodore failed to stop.
The vehicle was later found burnt-out at Wurdee Boluc Reservoir.
In late November detectives charged Bradley Azzopardi, 26, of Whittington with culpable driving, resisting arrest, driving while disqualified and other traffic-related offences in relation to Mr Ibbs’s death.
