Leaders in excellence

Saint Ignatius College aims to provide care and support for each student

Saint Ignatius College Geelong is proud to be the only Catholic co-educational secondary college in the region and a Jesuit partner school, nurturing academic excellence and promoting competence, conscience, compassion and service to others.
Its young women and men engage and work together as equals and develop lifelong learning skills.
Academic challenge and rigour are fundamental to all curriculum development and student work practices and staff are proud that the college is ranked among the top performing Catholic co-educational colleges in Victoria for VCE results.
In traditional Jesuit terminology, cura personalis aims to provide care and support for each student as a unique and gifted young person.
Integral to a Jesuit Catholic education is the provision of opportunities for students to develop leadership, to contribute to local and overseas community service and social justice programs and to engage in immersion experiences in language and culture.
It is believed at Saint Ignatius that the servant leadership model is fundamental in developing students’ abilities and is an important aspect of producing men and women for others.
Its motto “Saint Ignatius. Inspiring me to be a leader” underpins all the college does.
To cater for the growth in student numbers, at present 1200, plans are underway for an additional sports hall which will have many critical uses including a space to gather as a whole school.
In addition, a new year nine centre will accommodate students in a separate precinct providing programs and facilities that are unique to that level.
The college invites the community to meet students and staff and discover the rich and varied educational opportunities at its open day on Sunday 20 March from 11am to 2pm with information sessions at 11am and 12.15pm.
