Another Geelong retail collapse

Another retail chain with a Geelong store has closed down, with the GNC LiveWell outlet in Westfield ceasing trading.
Seven stores in the chain have closed after the Australian operations of the global brand were placed in voluntary administration.
The retail outlets sold a range of vitamins and nutritional supplements.
The Singapore-based Osim International owns the global brand but is exiting the Australian nutritional supplements market.
The company’s 2015 financial results showed its Australian arm suffered a $2.6 million loss by going into voluntary administration.
Pitcher Partners has been appointed as administrators of ONI Global (Australia).
The closure follows news of Geelong’s two Jaffle Jaffle stores and the Geelong outlet of Jeep clothing also collapsing into voluntary administration.

Jaffle Jaffle operated a flagship Westfield Geelong store and stores at Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre and in Collins Street in Melbourne’s CBD.
The chain was founded in 2014, selling a range of gourmet toasted sandwiches.
The company behind the Jeep retail chain, Revolution Brands, last week also collapsed into voluntary administration.
The first Jeep clothing store opened just 10 years ago but expanded to 20 stores nationwide, including the Geelong outlet, which is still trading.
The administrator said the Jeep stores would remain open while pursuing a sale of the business as a going concern.
A number of high-profile retail brands have collapsed into administration in the past few months, including homewares business Laura Ashley and electronics chain Dick Smith.
