Artefacts buried as Lara school marks 150 milestone

Lara Lake Primary School has laid a time capsule as part of celebrations to mark its 150th anniversary.
Principal Noel Creece said the school opened in 1865 and had since cared for and educated thousands of students.
The time capsule was the culmination of a year of celebrations around the milestone laid on the last day of the academic year near the original steps of the school, Mr Creece said.
“Inside the capsule the students placed stories of their current lives, photos and other artefacts.”
School council president Kylie Grzybek was on hand to ceremonially place the items into the capsule.
Mr Creece said the time capsule would be sealed and buried, with the opening planned for the school’s 200th year in 2065.
