Dog rescue owner a wanted Geelong man

The owner of a dog rescued by people power earlier this week on the New South Wales south coast is a former Geelong man wanted by Victoria Police.
The story made headlines around the country when Charlie Griffith’s American bulldog Brooklyn became stuck in a wombat hole.
Locals in Nowra banded together to dig the pooch out but the national media coverage aroused the interest of police in Victoria where Mr Griffith is wanted.
Police issued media release in July last year with a photo of Mr Griffith.
“The 38-year-old Geelong man is wanted in relation to stalking and a number of assault related offences,” the notice said.
“Investigators have made a number of enquiries at to Charles whereabouts and believe that he may frequent the Horsham and Warrnambool areas.”
NSW and Victorian police were liaising on Mr Griffith’s potential extradition but refused to comment further on the circumstances surrounding the alleged offences.
