A NEW-AGE music festival will bring together “eco-minded folk” on the Surf Coast this month, organisers have announced.
Waves 2 Woods would be a “brilliant day out” at Anglesea, said festival co-founder Alex Boston.
The one-day “curated festival” on 21 November would include activities for “families and foodies, live music lovers, yogis, craft beer and wine tipplers and green hearts,” she said.
“Waves 2 Woods is all about exploring the areas where we can individually and collectively make a difference.
“We have created a fun and engaging day out where people can kick back and share in positive and empowering messages about their role in a sustainable future while having a cracking afternoon with live music and good mates.”
Boston said all the festival elements had a “social outcome”.
The event’s series of “morning adventures” comprised meditation and yoga, including on stand-up paddleboard, she said.
Festival proceeds would go to charities focused on depression, childhood development and environmental protection.
Boston said Waves 2 Woods would also run a social campaign, #smallchanges, that encouraged patrons to make lifestyle changes with positive environmental outcomes.
All Waves 2 Woods food vendors would use sustainable meat and organic seasonal produce, while the bar would serve craft beer and boutique vineyard wine.
Boston said she created the event with fellow Surf Coast resident Stacey Doak, who shared her core philosophy of a working toward a “healthier, greener and sustainable future”.
