Geelong Christmas windows launch animates mayor Lyons

MYER will unveil its Geelong Christmas windows at 5:30pm Friday, City Hall has announced.
This year’s windows would feature “elements of animation”, Mayor Darryn Lyons said.
“The 2015 Myer Christmas Windows are back better than ever with still and animated characters that kids are going to love,” he said.
“Geelong is becoming one of the main Christmas capitals in Australia and our Myer Christmas Windows are a big part of Geelong’s Christmas trail.
“I encourage families to get down to Myer early on Friday. The Geelong Baptist Choir will perform Christmas carols and Central Geelong Marketing elves will entertain the crowd.”
The windows are a joint project between City Hall, Central Geelong Marketing and Westfield.
Central Geelong Marketing committee chair Beth King said the Myer windows provided an opportunity to recreate Melbourne’s tradition of family visiting the Bourke St store o inspect the window displays each Christmas.
“We’re thrilled to be supporting the Myer Christmas Windows in Geelong for the second year running,” Ms King said.
“They bring an element of magic and Christmas cheer to the CBD. Make sure to come down and have a look while shopping in central Geelong this Christmas season.”
