Terminals reviewing jobs in Geelong port precinct

TERMINALS will review its Geelong workforce after the closure of a Laverton-based chemical company.
Australian Vinyls will soon cease manufacturing polyvinyl chlorine (PVC), which Terminals stores in Geelong’s port precinct.
A Terminals spokesperson confirmed the closure would affect the company.
“Terminals will shortly conduct a review of the impact of the cessation of manufacture will have on its business.
“We’ll look at a replacement strategy and discuss any decisions with our employees when our options are clearer, probably early next year.
“The continued growth of the Port of Geelong as a bulk terminal offers grounds for optimism.”
