Geelong women have been encouraged to take control of their own finances at a workshop at Simonds Stadium.
Not-for-profit financial wellbeing organisation 10thousandgirl and BPW Geelong hosted the fourth half-day workship in regional locations this week.
The series is part of a national two-year Better Money Management program to help regional women improve their finances with access to free expert financial education.
10thousandgirl founder Zoe Lamont said women often neglected to invest in their own financial stability.
“We want to change this outlook for women across Australia and living in a regional area shouldn’t be a barrier,” Ms Lamont said.
“Our objective is to create the opportunity for women, no matter where they live, to learn the skills and build the confidence to become better at managing the money they have, so they have the financial acumen to achieve their dreams.”
