Deakin gets down and dirty

Deakin University medical and sports science students want more people to get dirty.
It’s not for research purposes, though it is for a good cause.
The students are challenging the Geelong community to join them in this year’s Deakin Dash held tomorrow at Deakin’s Waurn Ponds Campus.
The Deakin Dash is a mad-cap, down-and-dirty fundraising event that challenges participants to negotiate a 5km obstacle course that includes a jelly pool, 15m mud bath and slip and slide washed down with bubble bath and water, while being bombarded with colour bombs.
Following the success of the inaugural event last year, organisers are hoping to have around 200 people take part in this year’s Deakin Dash.
The money raised goes to One Girl, a charity committed to educating one million girls across Africa by 2020.
