Health the reel deal on peninsula

A REEL Health International Short Film Festival will have two more screenings on the Bellarine Peninsula this month and next.
Promoters said each screening would showcase 10 international short films that “inspire, touch and challenge audiences”.
Reel Health director Anne Doherty said the films t“share personal journeys and family experiences”.
“They are truly inspirational, thought-provoking and breathtaking,” she said.
Barwon Health has partnered with Monash Health to bring the festival to Geelong. The festival launched in 2013 as a platform for filmmakers to talk about health issues and how they affected communities.
Bellarine Community Health, SpringDale Neighbourhood Centre and Queenscliff Uniting Church signed on to host screenings on the peninsula.
Bellarine Community Health chief John Fendyk said his organisation was thrilled to be a festival partner.
“The films support Bellarine Community Health to engage the community in thinking about their health outside of our clinical settings,” he said.
Barwon Health hosted the first festival screening at the start of the month. The two remaining screenings will be at SpringDale Neighbourhood Centre next Friday and Uniting Church Queenscliff on 23 September.
