POLICE have impounded three cars after arresting hoons in separate Geelong incidents over the past week.
A 34-year-old’s car was impounded after he was detected travelling at more than double the speed limit in Corio on Wednesday afternoon.
Police clocked the Ford sedan at 163km/h in a 80km/h zone on the Princes Hwy at 3.40pm
The vehicle was impounded for 30 days under Victorian hoon legislation.
Police expected to charge the Hoppers Crossing man on summons with various traffic related offences.
On Sunday night police caught a 16-year-old unaccompanied learner driver and P-plater hooning at Waurn Ponds.
Patrol officers allegedly saw them performing burnouts in a rest stop area off Geelong-bound lanes of the city’s bypass around 9pm.
Both their vehicles were immediately impounded under the hoon legislation.
