Truck, car smash closes freeway near Lara

A CRASH has closed all lanes on Princes Fwy near Lara.
Commuters are piling up as paramedics treat a man trapped in a truck that collided with a car near the Avalon Rd overpass.
An air ambulance will take the man to hospital.
VicRoads said the Avalon Rd overpass was also now closed.
“Emergency services are on site, with Victoria Police diverting traffic across Avalon Rd and then back onto the freeway,” VicRoads said.
“VicRoads advises people travelling to Lara from Melbourne use Little River Rd and people heading to Avalon Airport use Beach Rd.
“VicRoads suggests people travelling through the area allow extra time for their trip.
“Avoid the area if possible.”
