INTERNATIONALLY-renowned Geelong artist Charles Moodie will add extra colour to a waterfront art show with four of his best works.
Mr Moodie’s contributions will be available for sale alongside about 120 other artworks at Geelong Art Society’s exhibition at Rippleside’s Osborne House, beginning Saturday.
Society exhibition organiser Rayma Agg expected Mr Moodie’s works to fetch as much as $1800 each but the event would have “something for every budget”.
“There will be oils, watercolours, pastels and sculptures in both modern and traditional styles starting from about $200,” Ms Agg said.
“Some people probably don’t realise we have local artists like Charles Moodie who have received awards for exhibitions in Australia and France.
“The big names we have at this exhibition, like Moodie and Christopher Lamb, will draw big crowds.”
Ms Agg hoped the exhibition would “put Osborne House back on the map”.
City of Greater Geelong took over the 153-year-old heritage building in 1995, with renovations work now underway.
The house has previously served as a naval college and officers for the former Shire of Corio.
“It’s a lovely old place and this is the first art show they’ve had there, so hopefully it will attract more people to Osborne House,” she said.
