Arcare’s expansion to the Bellarine Peninsula has created hundreds of employment opportunities for locals wanting to build a career in the eve- growing aged care industry.
With aged care residences at Point Lonsdale and Portarlington, Arcare offers permanent and respite care and has sensitive care units catering for residents with dementia.
In order to staff the residences with employees appropriate to the organisation’s high standards, Arcare’s nationally accredited registered training organisation, the Arcare Training Institute, will commence Certificate III in Aged Care classes in the area this month.
Arcare Training Institute uses industry professionals to educate students for guaranteed clinical placement at one of Arcare’s residences, which ensures each student is educated with the organisation’s values in mind.
Upon completion of the course, students might also be offered employment, with 95 per cent of graduates currently going on jobs with Arcare.
The training opportunity is welcome news given the closure of manufacturing plants around Geelong and surrounding areas, forcing thousands of workers to re-skill.
Both of Arcare’s facilities on the Bellarine Peninsula offer state-of-the-art accommodation.
Point Lonsdale’s Arcare Bellarine has a rustic sea-change ambience that embraces its coastal surroundings.
Arcare Portarlington features a setting close to nature and just minutes from the bayfront.
Each facility showcases Arcare’s bright, modern design where residents, families and carers are encouraged to interact.
All of the private suites have their own en suites and individual heating, while landscaped outdoor spaces including entertaining areas provide ideal settings for relaxation and socialising.
Families are encouraged to visit residents at any time, while Arcare also provides various activities including bus excursions.
