THE devastating news of his father’s aggressive brain cancer has prompted a Geelong fitness instructor to launch a fundraising campaign.
Tom Boyle said his dad, Damian, was diagnosed with the cancer after suffering a seizure while teaching students at Belmont High School.
He is now undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Tom said he felt he had to do something positive, so he aimed to raise funds for Make a Wish Foundation and brain cancer research.
“I just want to give back as much as I can as his son,” Tom said.
The well-being instructor will run a six-week fitness challenge costing $60 a head, with all proceeds split evenly between the foundation and brain cancer research.
“It’s a chance for people to get fit while giving something back,” he said.
The six-week course is due to start on 28 April.
Tom said anyone wanting more information could phone him on 0400 800 738 or email tomboyle@projexfitness.com.au.
