Man wanted over city store armed robbery

POLICE have a released a security photo of a man they want to interview about an armed robbery in a city shop last month. 

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit police have been told a man entered the Ryrie Street home wares store on Saturday 21 June around 3.15pm. 

The man walked around the store, browsing, until a number of other shoppers paid for their goods and left. 

The man selected two glass jars and approached the counter where a shop assistant wrapped his purchases. 

While standing at the counter, the man produced a pair of scissors and demanded cash from the female attendant. 

The male took an amount of cash from the till and ran from the store at approximately 3.40pm. 

The man is described as being aged in his mid teens to his early 20s, unshaven with blonde hair. 

At the time of the robbery he was wearing a hooded top and black pants.
