A CONFIDENCE-building program for young women with disabilities will culminate in a fashion parade with a difference.
Featuring clients and staff of Encompass Community Services, the fashion parade will raise money to fund the next wave of the program.
Target, Big W, Harris Scarfe, Eddy Elias and Strapper are among local retailers providing their latest fashions so the models can strut their stuff.
Welfare agency support body United Way Geelong Region provided initial funding for the program, aimed at instilling sufficient confidence for clients to enter the workforce.
Encompass chief executive officer Elaine Robb said funding from sources such as United Way and local businesses was crucial to the organisation’s ability to continue providing services for clients with disabilities.
“Encompass is committed to encouraging and promoting equality and opportunities for all our clients and assistance like this from sponsors and the public makes a big difference,” she said.
K-Rock announcer Kelli Paun will MC the parade at Kardinia Heights Centre from 6.30pm on July 9.
Ms Robb asked anyone seeking tickets to phone Encompass on 5222 3377.
