Hut burns, man ‘gone’

By NOEL MURPHY

POLICE are appealing for public help to find missing Lara man Murray McMillan.
Mr McMillan was last seen at home on 14 April when he told a family member he would return three days later.
Police believe he was heading to a friend’s property in Moonambel to go camping for a few days.
The 45-year-old was reported missing on 18 April after failing to return from the trip.
Police then discovered the Moonambel hut had burned down.
Mr McMillan’s vehicle, a green Mitsubishi Magna sedan, was found in the Pyrenees State Forest, Warrenmang, about 4pm Monday.
Police units including Search and Rescue, Dog Squad, Air Wing and local officers searched the area without success.
Police and family have serious concerns for Mr McMillan, who suffers from an undisclosed medical condition.
Investigators released photos of Mr McMillan along with an image of a car similar to his sedan.
He is also known to frequent the You Yangs.
Police urge anyone in the state’s west to also keep a look out for him.
Anyone who saw Mr McMillan should phone Triple Zero (000) immediately.
Police asked anyone with other information to phone crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
