Debs preparing for special night

Disabled Geelong residents are set to shine in their very own debutante ball at Capri Receptions next Friday night.
Hosted by disability services provider Karingal and community group Zonta Club of Geelong, A Starry Starry Night will feature 30 male and female Karingal clients presented to Geelong’s Mayor Councillor John Mitchell.
Karingal general manager Robyn Bradshaw said the event would allow participants to live the “dream of becoming a debutante”.
She said the event had become a talking point throughout Karingal.
“Our participants are really looking forward to learning the dances, getting dressed up and being presented to a room full of their friends and family as well as members of the Geelong community,” Ms Bradshaw said.
The event will also feature performances by renowned Geelong musician Tim McCallum and band Cool Change.
Tickets are available by phoning 5241 7091.
