Woman, 70, stuck four days in a Marshall roof

A WOMAN in her 70s has been rescued after being stuck in the roof of her Marshall house for four days.

Firefighters and rescue teams took more than an hour to bring the woman down from the roof of the Station Road house late this morning.

They cut a hole in the roof and lifted her down into the house on a spineboard using roping gear.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Geelong Hospital.

Believed about 70 years old, the woman had gone up into the roof to check where a draught was coming from before she slipped and fell and got stuck, the CFA said.

Emergency services were alerted to her plight after a neighbour heard her cries for help.

The woman is reported to have been conscious during the four-day ordeal and also to have sustained an injury to her arm.
