Buckets & Bouquets

By Editorial

BUCKETS to Geelong. I live in Melbourne’s inner-city and was disappointed to find your town doesn’t have a self-serve frozen yoghurt store. There are everywhere here. Get with it.
Bad Culture, East Melbourne

BUCKETS to the person who let their dog poo in front of letterboxes on Boundary Rd on 20 September. You should be ashamed. I have reported you.
Sick, Newcomb

BOUQUETS to the wonderful people of Geelong, the Surf Coast, Bellarine Peninsula and outlying areas for their generosity toward a 2013 Geelong Legacy Appeal in support of the widows and children of deceased ex-servicemen and women. Their dependents’ need continues, especially for those of personnel in recent conflicts.
Graeme Collins, Geelong Legacy Club secretary

BOUQUETS to Geelong West’s DAL Café, whose imminent closure is saddening. To me it is more than a café, it is a vibrant sharing hub with an atmosphere of much friendliness. No more will we enjoy the staff’s delicious fare. The café will be missed greatly.
FB, Herne Hill

BOUQUETS to a lovely lady who offered to carry my three-year-old to the front door of Leisurelink in heavy rain while I ran carrying my two-year-old. Being 19 weeks pregnant, I appreciated it very much.
Alison, Highton

BUCKETS to the return of the littering hordes to the Surf Coast. First holiday break with good weather and, ka-plop, it’s empty drink containers and food wrappers everywhere. Next holidays I’m going to Melbourne to empty my bin on the finest lawns of the suburbs.
Stay Home Pigs, Torquay

BOUQUETS to a gentleman who gave me his seat on a 4.43pm train on 25 September. I was rather hot and bothered after minding grandchildren for the day, so my gratitude was twofold.
Happy Nonna, East Geelong
