Independent circulation keeps growing to 92,277

A circulation increase has cemented the Independent’s status as regional Victoria’s highest-circulating community newspaper.
Circulation Audit Bureau’s latest half-yearly analysis counted a circulation of 92,277, an increase of 2.1 per cent in six months.
The increase maintained or extended the Independent’s circulation lead over all other locally published newspapers in the Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast region.
The paper now has a circulation almost 30 per cent to around three times larger than its major competitors.
Managing editor Tony Galpin welcomed the latest audit as “great news” for both the community and the Independent.
“Our huge circulation allows us to give unbeatable promotion and prominence to the events and issues that are important to our community,” Mr Galpin said.
“With the authority of a CAB-audited circulation, readers and advertisers can be confident their independently owned newspaper is the best vehicle to advance their interests.
“The Independent thanks the community for its support, which we know is essential to the success of our newspaper.”
