Queenscliff Music Festival expects an increase of 300 people each day during this year’s November event, according to its director.
Michael Carrucan told the Independent organisers had increased a camping area and the size of the festival’s main tent to accommodate the additional punters.
“Given the way the festival’s grown in the last couple of years, we’ll try and accommodate some demand.”
Last year’s festival entertained about 7000 visitors each day, he said.
Mr Carrucan said the 2013 event would be the festival’s third year with its new layout at Princess Park following a 2011 move from JL Jordan Reserve.
“We almost got it right last year and we’re fine-tuning it again this year.”
Mr Carrucan described last week’s first line-up announcement as “a strong and deep bill”.
“We’ve got some strong headliners – Spiderbait, The Screaming Jets, The Living End and Russell Morris haven’t played Queenscliff before.
“But it’s not just the big names – there are some really strong and emerging acts like The Trouble with Templeton and The Preatures.”
Headline acts so far announced also include The Grates, John Butler Trio and Blue King Brown.
Early-bird tickets sold out in record time this year, Mr Carrucan said.
