Former Surf Coast resident Ash Grunwald will return to his former stamping ground next month to play songs from his latest album.
The blues and roots musician will play Torquay Hotel on 15 June as part of his national Gargantua tour.
He produced the album with the help of The Living End’s rhythm section – Scott Owen and Andy Strachan, who have joined him on the tour.
The album comprises two new songs, some covers and a handful of “reworked” Grunwald songs, recorded over six days.
Grunwald’s promoters described Gargantua as an “unplanned experiment in altered methodology”.
They said the album was set for its official launch on 20 June, so the Torquay gig would give fans a chance to hear the songs early.
