Big Cats sink teeth into fund-raiser for kids

THE CATS are putting their buns on the line to raise money for a charity helping kids with brain damage.
Trent West sank his teeth into Hot Cross Buns Week when fellow ruckman Hamish McIntosh, the Cats’ face of the fund-raiser, was subbed out of promoting the event due to his own dental issues.
Hot Cross Buns Week will raise money for Kids Plus Foundation, which helps children with cerebral palsy and other brain problems.
The foundation provides over 3500 hours of free therapy each year in the Barwon region.
Kids Plus operates without government funding, instead depending on community support through fund-raisers such as Hot Cross Buns Week.
The foundation has partnered with Routley’s bakeries to deliver hot cross buns to groups hosting morning tea fund-raisers during the week, from 25 to 28 March.
Organisers said participants contributed $2 for each bun eaten, with contributors also eligible for “fantastic” prizes.
The Cats have committed to hosting their own staff morning tea.
