Lara mum Jane Burns has juped out of a plane to support mothers in short-term crises.
She joined Geelong’s Megan Brooks, Melinda Mahon and Kim Boyle in a parachuting adventure near Barwon Heads as part of a national fundraiser helping Support For Mums.
Ms Burns said her maiden jump was “absolutely amazing” but secondary to the $39,000 raised nationally.
“The Geelong team raised $4000 and we’re all thrilled to get so much for such a worthy cause.”
Mrs Burns said she would now consider participating in other extreme-sport fundraisers.
“We were all a bundle of nerves before the jump. One minute I was in the plane, the next my feet were out and I couldn’t see anything but clouds.
“I’d definitely say yes to experiencing something like that again with a Geelong branch of Support For Mums.”
The organisation helped mothers seeking assistance with emotional or financial difficulties, Mrs Burns said.
