A WEEK ago David Diecke was tearing his hair out trying to find workers for his South Geelong panel shop.
But the pressure has turned down a little after the Independent revealed his labour plight in a story last week.
Mr Diecke said he had hired three new workers who responded to the story.
The Smash Masters boss had previously advertised elsewhere without result.
“I’ve had a really, really good response since,’’ he said.
“We got a really good apprentice painter, assembler and panel beater, all from Geelong.’’
“But I still definitely need more.”
