Exercise a stroll in the park

Lisa Humphries
Local Olympian Lee Troop will lead Geelong parents in an attempt to help get a world pram-strolling record tomorrow.
Geelong will be one of 25 locations participating in a statewide 2006 World’s Greatest Pram Stroll.
Mr Troop, a Geelong ambassador for the event, will walk with wife Freya and eight-month-old daughter Macy.
He said the stroll would promote the value of exercise to new parents.
“Being proactive is a stress relief and releases endorphins to help you relax,” he said.
“It gets you out of your normal confines, allows you to enjoy the weather, get your blood circulating, get your brain ticking and help your environment at home.”
The event will include family entertainment and information on support services for new parents.
Mr Troop will launch the stroll at 10am in Rippleside Park, Bell Parade.
The 5km walk along the foreshore will start at 10.30am.
