Leading local real estate agents join forces with your Independent

A group of the region’s leading independent real estate agents have joined forces with the Independent.
Agents including McDonald and Co, the Allpoints group, Hiddleston Barling, NH Abbey First National, ResCom Geelong and Bannockburn, Elders Residential, Century 21 and Mayfield Real Estate will appear in the Independent’s geelongproperty.com.au liftout from March 20.
They will join existing advertisers North Geelong Real Estate, Cuthbertson’s and Allpoints Lara.
Their vendors’ properties will enjoy expanded advertising coverage in Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and the Surf Coast. Each of the agents will be included in the Independent’s CAB-audited full run of 91,223 copies a week – the largest of any community newspaper in regional Victoria.
A major marketing campaign will accompany the launch of the expanded real estate liftout.
McDonald and Co’s Greg McDonald said the agents’ partnership with the Independent reflected a real estate advertising trend toward community newspapers.
“The declining circulations of paid daily newspapers compared to the reliable distribution growth of community newspapers like the Independent makes this shift inevitable,” Mr McDonald said.
“For example, in the Geelong market the major daily real estate advertising option has a circulation of about 45,000 compared to the Independent’s 91,000-plus.
“This is clearly an overwhelming advantage for real estate advertisers and their vendors, particularly in the current economic climate.”
Mr McDonald also welcomed the synergy between the new advertisers and the Independent.
“It’s a natural progression for independent agents to lead the way with the Independent newspaper.”
Managing editor Tony Galpin welcomed the Independent’s new partnership with the agents.
“We look forward to working together for vendors to enjoy the best value possible when advertising their homes.”
