A man and woman have been arrested following an ongoing firearms investigation, with bomb squad detectives attending a Geelong West property.
Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested a 30-year-old man on Myers Street in Geelong at about 11am on 6 March as part of the investigation.
Investigators searched a nearby vehicle allegedly belonging to the man and seized a firearm and drugs before a search warrant was executed at a Geelong West property at about 11.45am.
A 33-year-old woman was arrested at a Clonard Avenue property, and police seized firearm-related items, ammunition, drugs and cash, with officers searching a nearby vehicle.
An item that appeared to be an improvised explosive device was located along with a firearm and ammunition.
The Bomb Response Unit were deployed to the scene and rendered the device safe, with the street blocked off to the public during the afternoon.
A storage shed in Breakwater was also searched, and a 3D Printer and 3D-printed firearms were seized.
Detectives will interview the man and woman, and the investigation remains ongoing.
