Great Ocean Road still closed

The Great Ocean Road remains closed to traffic in both directions between Lorne and Skenes Creek due to extreme weather, flooding and possible land-slips.

V/Line coach services that normally run along the Great Ocean Road are detouring inland, and will bypass Kennet River and Wye River stops.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area, detour wide using Princes Highway via Colac. This detour will add significant travel time. Conditions are changing rapidly and are dangerous.

If travel is essential in the area, obey all directions of emergency services.

Transport Victoria reminds the community of the extreme danger of travelling in the current conditions. Roads may be closed and public transport routes may be cancelled at short notice.

The closure is under the control of emergency services. Check the VicEmergency website or app for the latest emergency information before travelling.

Transport Victoria provides real-time traffic conditions and the latest public transport information at transport.vic.gov.au
