Man charged after firearms found

A man is facing dozens of charges after a bag containing firearms was discovered in Whittington.

A 29-year-old man has been charged and remanded after officers found the bag in a Whittington street last week.

A warrant was executed at an address in Alouette Court Whittington yesterday (27 November), with the man taken into custody and interviewed by police.

He has since been charged with 32 offences including trafficking a commercial quantity of drug of dependence, trafficking a drug of dependence, possessing a drug of dependence, possessing of traffickable quantity of firearms, being a prohibited person possessing firearms, failing to answer bail and other offences.

He was remanded and will appear the Geelong Magistrates’ Court today.
