Tragic end to search for missing man

A body has been found in the Barwon River, which police believe could be that of a missing Mount Duneed man.

A man’s body was discovered in the Barwon River off Swanston Street in South Geelong on Sunday 16 November, days after an extensive search for missing man Bradley Davies was called off.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said police would prepare a report for the coroner, but that the death was “not being treated as suspicious”.

“The body, which is yet to be formally identified, is believed to be that of missing Mount Duneed man Bradley,” they said.

The 35-year-old was last seen on Balliang Street in South Geelong on 12 November when CCTV footage captured him entering Corner Boxing Co gym.

Police conducted an extensive search that involved an air wing, drone unit, mounted branch and water police of the Barwon River in the days following Mr Davies’ disappearance.

The search was called off on 14 November after police failed to locate any trace of Mr Davies in the Barwon River area.
