A hit and run has led to another death on the state’s roads after a man died in Lara overnight.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for any witnesses after emergency services were called to reports of a male pedestrian found deceased on Bacchus Marsh Road around 11pm last night (September 10).
It is believed the man, who remains unknown at this time, was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, with police continuing to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident.
The Lara death has brought the current provisional lives lost tally to 206 lives lost on the state’s roads this year, which is eight more deaths than the same time last year.
