Arrests made following carjacking

Two people from Corio have been arrested following a carjacking in a Lara school car park.

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives investigated the incident after a 56-year-old Lara woman was approached by a man in a Flinders Avenue school carpark at around 7.15am on August 6.

The man allegedly threatened the female driver before pushing her out of her silver Mazda CX5 and stealing the vehicle, leaving the woman physically unharmed.

Detectives attended a Dural Court address in Corio at 9am this morning (August 8) and arrested a 30-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman.

The stolen Mazda was recovered during the arrest, with the Corio man and woman being interviewed by police.
