Bus passengers in some parts of Geelong are urged to plan for disruptions and cancellations to services on Wednesday, 28 May due to possible industrial action.
The Transport Workers’ Union has provided notice of a 24-hour work stoppage for drivers on bus routes run by two operators – Dysons and CDC Victoria.
This stoppage will affect routes across Melbourne, and on CDC-operated routes in Geelong, Wyndham, Mildura and Ballarat. Bus routes operated by Dysons outside of Melbourne are not affected.
CDC Victoria will not run any bus services in Geelong, Wyndham and Ballarat, and will operate school services only from its depots in Oakleigh, Tullamarine, Sunshine and Mildura.
Passengers on affected routes should consider other transport alternatives on Wednesday.
All bus services are expected to run per normal schedule on Thursday, 29 May.
Geelong bus routes affected by the stop-work action are:
1 North Shore Station – Deakin University via Geelong City
10 Lara Station – Corio SC via Lara South
11 Lara Station – Lara East
12 Lara Station – Lara West
20 Geelong Station – Corio SC
22 Geelong Station – North Shore Station via Anakie Rd
23 Corio SC – North Shore Station
24 Geelong Station – North Geelong Station via Newtown
25 Geelong Station – Bell Post Hill
43 Geelong Station – Deakin University via Highton
Services to the following schools will also be affected: Bannockburn P-12 College, Belmont High, Clonard College, Geelong College, Geelong Grammar, Geelong High, GGS Bostock, Lara Secondary, Matthew Flinders Girls SC, North Geelong SC, Sant Ignatius, Sacred Heart, St John’s Lutheran, St Joseph’s College, St Joseph’s College Westcourt, Western Heights SC.
