Budget dollars revealed

Today’s state budget delivered $11.2 million to Belmont High School for upgrades.

Premier Jacinta Allan delivered her first budget with the local school to receive modern classrooms and facilities for learning and community use.

Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre will receive $11.5 million to open and operate the Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre.

More CCTV cameras will be installed along the Geelong and Ballarat rail lines, and $7.5 million to ensure the Melbourne Convention Bureau continues to attract events and visitors to our state.

The Gordon TAFE in Geelong was allocated $1.8 million to upgrade facilities.

Funding will also support the operationalisation of the redeveloped emergency department at University Hospital.

An investment of more than $300 million will ensure ongoing access to mental health beds, including operationalising 30 beds in the new regional Youth Prevention and Recovery Care centres in Geelong.

The state government has delivered $6 million for regional FoodShares in Geelong, Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Shepparton, Mildura and Warrnambool and it is installing 30 beds across the new regional Youth Prevention and Recovery Care centres in Geelong, Shepparton and Ballarat from July 2026 with an $8 million investment.

Lara Secondary College will share $25 million for the Capital Works Fund. The Fund provides an opportunity for schools to seek funding for small scale capital projects that are a priority for their school. This will deliver 21 projects and the next round of the Fund.
