Portarlington’s hopes of establishing a ferry to Melbourne have moved a step closer with Parks Victoria allocating space for the service at the town’s harbour.
Parks Victoria strategic relations manager Elaine Carbines said the ferry berth had been included in a draft master plan for a $30 million redevelopment of the harbour.

Geelong’s Moorabool St bus interchange could move depending on the outcome of a new transport strategy.
A City of Greater Geelong spokesperson said regional council alliance body G21’s transport strategy would include public feedback on issues such as the interchange location.

Planning is underway to develop the next Armstrong Creek to Geelong’s north and west, City Hall has revealed.
A statement out of City Hall this week announced that the “Northern and Western Geelong Growth Areas” would be of “similar scale” to Armstrong Creek, earmarked for a population the size of Ballarat.

Geelong Duck Rescue is hoping the “brutal“ 2023 duck shooting season is Victoria’s last as politicians consider its future.
Duck shooting season began at Lake Connewarre Reserve at 8a, on April 26 and has been reduced to five weeks with a new bag limit of four ducks.
