Million dollar coffee break

A Geelong man’s morning coffee break was extra sweet when he was told he’d won almost a million dollars in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The Victorian held one of the 21 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4489 on Saturday 27 July 2024. Each division one winning entry scored $952,380.96.

“It feels kind of weird – a little bit surreal. Stuff like this doesn’t happen to people like me,” he shared when speaking to an official from The Lott.

“Oh my god! It’s insane! I had no idea. I was making my morning coffee and still getting sleep out of my eyes when I got a message to check my ticket.

“I’ve been using these numbers in different combinations for a while. It’s a couple of family birthdates and numbers like that. I still work but this might speed up my retirement plans.

“I’ve got some thinking to do and am going to need a strong coffee! This is not a bad interruption to my morning, that’s for sure!”

The man’s winning marked 12-game entry was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4489 on 27 July 2024 were 4, 37, 45, 27, 11 and 20, while the supplementary numbers were 15 and 10.

Across Australia, there were 21 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4489 – eight in Victoria, five in New South Wales, four in Queensland and two each in South Australia and Western Australia..
