World-class exhibition in Geelong

Geelong’s National Wool Museum is currently exhibiting the internationally acclaimed Wildlife Photographer of the Year, direct from the Natural

History Museum, London.

The exhibition showcases extraordinary images from some of the world’s leading nature photographers, revealing rare animal behaviour, spectacular species, and the breathtaking diversity of life on Earth.

Visitors can enjoy complimentary access to all galleries, take part in family-friendly Christmas craft activities and explore a vibrant shopping experience.

“We’re thrilled to share this exclusive viewing with our community,” National Wool Museum director Padraic Fisher said.

“Wildlife Photographer of the Year is one of the most celebrated photography exhibitions in the world, and it’s a privilege to bring these stunning images to Geelong. This event is a wonderful way to combine festive fun with a deeper appreciation for our planet.”

Now in its 61st year, Wildlife Photographer of the Year is the Natural History Museum, London’s, global platform for the world’s best nature photography and wildlife photojournalism.

The annual competition receives more than 60,000 entries and is open to photographers of all ages, nationalities and experience levels.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for families and visitors to experience world-class photography right here in Geelong,” City of Greater Geelong mayor Stretch Kontelj said.

“The National Wool Museum continues to deliver exceptional cultural experiences, and this Christmas preview is a perfect example of how we celebrate creativity and community together.”

The exhibition at the National Wool Museum runs until 17 May and entry is free.
