Support is hear

For nearly 40 years, Geelong Hearing Aid Services has been offering the very solution to the upcoming Hearing Awareness Week’s theme: “How best to access support for your
hearing loss”.

Clinician Ashlee Willis explains how the hearing service, founded 40 years ago by Ian Young and his wife Wendy who has since passed away, has always responded to the theme.

“Support, care and empathy for people looking for the right answer to their particular hearing problem,” Ashlee says, “is what we’re all about. Our staff members are people-people, they’re welcoming and understanding, and forge strong relationships with clients, treating them like family.

“And access to that support is one reason Ian and Wendy originally chose to expand beyond Mitcham where they began, into Geelong and out to regional areas. Ian and Wendy always believed that people deserve a supportive approach from an expert hearing service like ours.

Another important aspect that’s always been preserved, right from the time the parent company’s name was Qualtone, is independence.

“This is what really sets us apart from the big corporate companies that now own most of the hearing companies. Independence means that the brands we carry are not attached to corporate obligation,” Ashlee explains.

“We can offer our customers any brand so they have a wider choice in finding the right one for them. At the same time, our prices are competitive and meet different lifestyles and budgets.”

Apart from offering good reason to choose independent, Geelong Hearing Aid Services has the latest in testing and fitting equipment. And all consultations and adjustments are completely free for the life of the hearing aid.

As well as welcoming private clients, the service is accredited to supply fully subsidised hearing aids to pensioners and DVA, WorkCover and TAC recipients.

Hearing Awareness week runs from March 1-7, with World Hearing Day on March 3. To celebrate, a 30-day free hearing aid trial is on offer through March and April.
